Bridesmaid & Groomsmen Proposals
“Will you be my bridesmaid/groomsman?” If you’ve been part of a wedding party before, you’re probably familiar with this somewhat new tradition. If you haven’t, here’s the basic idea: newly engaged brides and grooms often send gifts or other personalized surprises to their friends to ask them to play a significant role in the wedding- that is, to be a bridesmaid or groomsman.
Wedding party proposal packages give you an opportunity to start feeling out the tone and theme of your upcoming celebration. They also help you make it clear to your wedding party how important they are to you, and how excited you are to have them play a part in your big day. They’re about to spend a lot of time, money, and energy on you, so it’s nice to start off your bride-bridesmaid or groom-groomsman relationship with a thoughtful gesture. Fortunately, wedding party proposal gifts are just another opportunity for you to make cruelty-free choices, some of which even raise money for animals in need! Here are some animal-friendly items you might want to include:
For Your Bridesmaids:
Customized Bottle of Chloe Wine
Chloe’s entire line of wine is vegan (confused about how fermented grapes could not be vegan? I explain it over here), which is amazing and pretty rare! They also let you create customized labels, which are absolutely perfect for proposing to your bridesmaids. Yes, you can find templates for custom wedding themed wine labels on Etsy, but they usually aren’t designed for the specific brand of wine. The Chloe labels are free to order online, but they do take 7-10 days to arrive. Grab the bottles of Chloe wine (the bottle shown here is their Prosecco) at your local liquor store or at wine.com, and wait for your adorable labels to arrive!
Lauren B. Beauty Bridal Collection Nail Polish
Help your bridesmaids get in the beautifying mood with some pretty pink Lauren B. Beauty nail polish (the shade shown here is aptly called Blushing Bridesmaids)! Lauren B. Beauty’s line is fully vegan and cruelty-free (not tested on animals), so pick whichever shade most closely fits your besties’ personalities! Shop the full selection at Petit Vour.
PS: Petit Vour is FULL of other vegan & cruelty-free beauty products! Check them out for all your bridal pampering needs!
Rescue Candle
I’ve been a fan of Rescue Candle ever since I stumbled upon their cute Etsy shop last year, because they donate 15% of all proceeds to animal rescue groups! When ordering your Bridesmaid Proposal candles, you get to choose the perfect scent and request customized labels, ensuring that your ladies feel as special as the rescued animals who benefit from your thoughtful purchase!
Rose Vegan Bath Bomb
Being a bridesmaid is an honor and always a wild adventure, but it does tend to come along with some stress! Help your ladies relax and prepare for the months ahead with a luxurious, vegan, cruelty-free, rose petal filled bath bomb by Amenta’s Key Artisan Skincare.
Nicobella Organic Dark Chocolate Mocha Munch
Pump your ladies full of much needed energy with these organic and vegan dark chocolate coffee nibs! Nicobella Organics is a completely plant-based company that donates 5% of all sales to animal rescue and advocacy groups like Mercy For Animals, The Gentle Barn, and A Place To Bark. They also source their delicious coffee beans from the fabulous Brewing Good Coffee Co., a company that also donates a portion of profits to rescue groups! That means you’re donating doubly to help animals and your bridesmaids at the same time!
Lemonbug “Best Bitches” Cuff Bracelet
These hand stamped bracelets by Lemonbug (named after the founder’s rescue dog) are perfectly sassy pieces to include in your proposal package! Bracelets are available in aluminum, sterling silver, 14kt gold filled or 14kt rose gold filled, and a minimum of $1 per order is donated to a charity of the customer’s choice! Current available animal rescue charities include (but are not limited to): Barks of Love, Ottawa Dog Rescue, and The Vanderpump Dog Foundation!
“My Other Half” Custom Bridesmaid Flannels
If you’re already spending time planning on Pinterest (of course you are), you probably know there are quite a few businesses that print and sell bridal themed flannels, so you have many choices to pick from. That said, My Other Half donates 10% of every sale to the Sebastian County Humane Society, so I highly recommend ordering from them! These hand printed flannels would make an excellent part of your bridesmaid proposal box, but they would also make a lovely last minute gift to your ladies right before the wedding! They don’t currently have any photos of previous bridesmaid flannels on their Etsy page, but I’ve confirmed with the shop owner that she can and does create them. Reach out to the shop owner or submit a custom order here.
For Your Groomsmen:
Faux Leather Engraved Flask
You’ll find a lot of flasks on the market, but unfortunately many of them are made with real cow leather! Fortunately, the Home Wet Bar company on Etsy will make customized vegan flasks for your thirsty buddies, so they can drink up without harming animals.
Tito’s Vodka
For the drinkers in your crew, send them a customized bottle of Tito’s Vodka! Tito’s calls their product, “vodka for dog people,” and they mean it! Soon after the distillery was founded in Austin, TX, packs of stray dogs began to show up on the premisis, sending founder Tito Beveridge into the world of rescue! Tito’s has now launched a dog-centric side brand, the proceeds of which benefit a local spay/neuter clinic. Tito’s also donates vodka to animal rescue fundraisers, which allows non-profits to lower their event expenses. In conclusion, if you’re going to be drinking vodka, drink the kind that benefits dogs in need! You can even get customized Tito’s labels here to make your groomsmen feel special.
Matt & Nat Magistral Faux Leather Notepad Sleeve
Matt & Nat is one of the leading vegan leather companies, with a collection ranging from shoes to bags to these classy notepad sleeves! Include these durable booklets (made with a 100% recycled nylon lining!) to help your guys keep track of their most essential groomsmen duties.
Best Friends “Victory Dogs” Pint Glasses & Coasters
Whether or not your bros are personally into animal advocacy, they should know right from the start that you are. And anyway, who couldn’t use an extra pint glass? These glasses, made by Best Friends Animal Society, each feature the image of a dog who was rescued from Michael Vick’s horrific dog fighting operation. The back of each glass explains the featured dog’s details and tells the story of their journey to rehabilitation, comfort, and safety. Proceeds go to Best Friends Animal Society’s rescue work. Grab a set of four glasses at the Best Friends online store.
